Computations

AssetView is a highly computative environment. A transaction rolls up into a lot, into an asset, and into an account. Overlaying that hierarchy is a collection of AssetView features such as asset class aggregations and attribute aggregations.

Each new or changed transaction results in a need for re-computation of investment performance metrics for each-roll up and feature (e.g. profit, potential profit, XIRR, MOM).

While computationally intense, AssetView is designed to enable you to enter, import, or receive through an integration large quantities of new or changed transactions rapidly. To achieve this, AssetView prompts you on the top of the screen when the system is pending re-computation. You may then choose when to invoke the re-computation process. Once invoked, you may continue working with the system while the re-computation occurs in the background.
